here's a song for the lonely kids with the broken hearts. giving up and failing before they even start. for the girls that they love but never had a chance. for high school prom night and one last dance. for breaking up/making up on cell phone calls. for secretly making out in the bathroom stalls.

here's a song for the kids that never gave up. the ones searching for answers at the bottom of a cup. for drugs and pills to get through the night. for hopes there was hope in this hopeless life. for three am breakdowns and crying yourself to sleep. for the words that they wrote in the journals that they keep.

here's a song for this kid who's quietly in love. finding out what his heart might really be made of. writing letters to lovers he knows he'll never send. trying to justify the means to some unknown end. here's to his prayers being answered, by a God who doesn't exist. here's to hoping his girl know's who she is.
